Chances are you probably know someone who is the spouse of a first responder and they face many unique challenges. Lori provides insight into how we can better serve our first responder community. 1. Consider the wife of the firefighter while on shift.  Be compassionate towards her while the only parent at home and try to understand the emotional stress.
2. Give them their space when they are off work. Be respectful of their "off time." Don't take advantage of their passion to want to help people.
